Professor Stuart McCutcheon - Chairman

Vice Chancellor of The University of Auckland since 1 January 2005. He has served in an advisory capacity to a number of Government agencies and producer boards, and been a Director or Board Member of: the New Zealand Dairy Research Institute; the Wellington Regional Economic Development Trust; the Wellington College of Education; the Malaghan Institute of Medical Research; Universitas 21 and U21 Global; The University of Auckland Foundation; and the UK and US Friends of The University of Auckland. In 2004-5 Chair of the NZ Vice-Chancellors’ Committee.

Professor Jane Harding

A paediatrician specialising in newborn intensive care, Professor Jane Harding is an international authority on the regulation of fetal growth, placental function, and the treatment and consequences of undernutrition in the womb. She has been Professor of Neonatology at the University of Auckland since 2006 and has served on several national and international academies and bodies. She is a Fellow of the Royal Society of New Zealand and an Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit. Jane is Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research) at the University of Auckland.

Dr John Villiger

PhD Pharmacology Otago. John has spent the last 25 years in the pharmaceutical industry working predominantly in drug development. Between 1987-1996 he was employed by Hoffman La Roche in New Zealand and Switzerland in a global drug development. John was the co-founded of the Medicines Company in the USA and between 1996-2006 played a major role in their becoming a Nasdaq listed specialist pharmaceutical company. John is currently Chairman of Proacta and on the board of Pharmaxis.

Mr Tony McNaught

Partner, Corporate Finance, KPMG Auckland. Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants. BCom Otago University. Tony leads the national Corporate Finance division for KPMG & has over twenty years local & international mergers & acquisition experience. He delivers advice to privately owned medium as well as larger listed entities on matters such as acquisitions, divestments, management buyouts, capital raisings, valuations, executive share schemes & a broad range of other commercial issues. Having worked with high growth companies including Navman, Fisher & Paykel Healthcare & Virgin.

Professor Dick Bellamy

Emeritas Professor Dick Bellamy is a microbiologist and molecular biologist who joined the Board in 1986. He currently represents UniServices on the Board of DNA Diagnostics, an early spin out company which he helped establish and which is currently celebrating its 20th year in business. Dick served as the inaugural Director of the School of Biological Sciences for 10 years and subsequently as Dean of Science from 2000 to 2008. He has been on the Board of the Forest Research Institute and the Yellow Bus Company.

Professor Iain Martin

DVC, Strategic Engagement since Oct 2011, Dean of the Faculty of Medical & Health Sciences since September 2005 & Professor of Surgery since 2000, at The University of Auckland. Professor Martin began his academic career at the University of Leeds where he obtained his MD, was a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Surgery, & obtained a Masters degree with distinction in Education. Professor Martin is a Fellow of both the Royal College of Surgeons (England) & the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, & his clinical & research interests are focussed on gastrointestinal disease.

Scott Perkins, MD, Head Global Banking Deutsche Bank AG

Australia and New Zealand. LLB (Hons), BCom. Responsible for mergers and acquisitions, client coverage, equity capital markets and loan products. Scott is based in Sydney and is a member of the Asia Pacific Management Committee and the Australian and New Zealand Management Committees. Scott has over 20 years investment banking experience encompassing advice to major multinational, Australian and New Zealand corporations. Scott has played a key role in transforming the Deutsche Bank Australia and New Zealand franchise into a top three ranking investment banking firm.

Professor Michael Davies

Dean of Engineering at UOA since May 2007. Honorary Professorial Fellow of the Scottish Crop Research Institute. Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh. Member of the UK EPSRC Built Environment College, formerly Vice-Chairman of the British Periglacial and Permafrost Association, Chairman of ; the Institution of Civil Engineers South Wales Association Ground Engineering Group, the Institution of Civil Engineers Scottish Geotechnical Group, 2005 to 2007 Chairman of the British Geotechnical Association. Also currently a member of CAENZ

Ms Katrina Troughton

Katrina has more than 19 years experience in the IT industry with over 14 years in management and general management roles in New Zealand and across Asia. She is currently Vice President of WebSphere, working in IBM Software groups Growth Market Unit in Shanghai, China. Katrina is also on the advisory board for Global Women, and has held director positions for IBM New Zealand, IBM Australia New Zealand Group, worked on the Victoria University – BCA advisory board, the American Chamber of Commerce NZ Board. She also Chaired the NZ Government Digital Strategy Advisory Board.

John Hagen - Ex Chairman Deloitte

MBA, MCom (Hons). Fellow-NZ Institute of Chartered Accountants, Fellow & accredited director-Institute of Directors & Fellow of the Arbitrators & Mediators Institute of NZ. Distinguished Alumni of the University of Auckland, Life Member NZICA. Directorships include: Chairman NZ Debt Management Office Advisory Board, Board Member of; Datacom Group, Hughes & Cossar, Auckland Regional Chamber of Commerce, Chairman-University of Auckland Business School Advisory Board.
