Unlocking genius

The University of Auckland offers cutting edge research and development and open thinking. UniServices takes that to the market, whether through technology transfer, professional learning for  educators or client partnerships.

Open innovation

In a world of widely distributed knowledge, companies cannot afford to rely entirely on their own research; they seek innovation from external sources. UniServices specialises in Open Innovation, having assisted many companies to solve challenging technical problems and realise opportunities that neither party could have identified alone.

We have become experts at creatively linking business to the research capabilities of The University of Auckland and to find the inherently big thoughts that exist at the interface between hard business questions and the creativity of our academic researchers.

As part of UniServices' 2009 Open Innovation Programme, which links business to the research capability of The University of Auckland, 12 Summer Student Scholarships have been awarded, for students from science, engineering, and business disciplines.

Students will be given the opportunity to work on challenging 'real-world' problems with projects for some of New Zealand's most well-known companies, including; Telecom, Fonterra, Frucor, and Greenlea.

We are proud to be starting something big with our future academics and thinkers and at the same time support New Zealand's businesses in open innovative thinking.
